Scope. Day Hike, Inc., a Wyoming corporation (“Day Hike,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), respects and protects your privacy. This Privacy Policy discloses the information collected by Day Hike or its third parties, how such information is processed and sometimes shared, and your rights with respect to such information.
Services. This Privacy Policy covers information collected from users of any of Day Hike’s websites, applications, online services, and other interactive properties that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, “Services”).
Advertisements, Content, and Promotions. The Services may include advertisements, promotions, user content, or special offers (collectively, “Content” or “Promotions”).
Other Websites. Except as otherwise stated, this Privacy Policy applies only to information collected by Day Hike through its Services, not to information collected by third-party websites or mobile applications.
Members. Certain Services may require registration. This Privacy Policy applies both to general users and registered members (“Members”).
2. INFORMATION DAY HIKE COLLECTS
Day Hike collects the following types of information:
Personal Information
Day Hike may collect information you provide that allows us to identify or contact you (“Personal Information”), such as:
Information you provide to become a Member.
Name, email address, phone numbers.
Information you provide through surveys, polls, or promotions.
Billing information for purchases (processed via third parties).
Information about other people that you provide in connection with using Services.
Social network profile information if you connect your Day Hike account.
Trail Crush & Social Features
If you use Trail Crush or other social features, we collect information such as:
Requests you send or receive.
Your Trail Crush settings (enabled/disabled).
Your visibility and privacy preferences.
Metadata such as request timestamps.
This information is private to you and the recipient(s) and is not publicly displayed.
Automatic Information
When you interact with the Services, we automatically collect certain information, such as:
Browser type, operating system, IP address, device ID.
Cookie and analytics data.
Usage data, including interactions with social features.
Aggregate Information
We may compile anonymous statistical data about groups of users to improve Services.
Email, Sharing & Communications
If you email Day Hike, or post/share Content through the Services, we may retain communications and related information.
Purchases
If you buy goods, services, or subscriptions through the Services, Day Hike may retain purchase records but does not store credit card details (payment processors handle this).
3. INFORMATION COLLECTED BY THIRD PARTIES
Day Hike may allow third parties to provide advertisements, promotions, or features. These third parties may collect non-personal data (browser, IP, device ID). This Privacy Policy does not cover such third-party practices — please review their policies separately.
4. TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
Day Hike and its third parties may use cookies and web beacons for analytics, personalization, and advertising.
Cookies: Session and persistent cookies may be used to store login data, preferences, and track usage.
Web Beacons: Small graphics used to monitor engagement with pages, emails, or ads.
You can decline cookies, but some features may not work.
5. HOW DAY HIKE USES INFORMATION
Day Hike uses your information to:
Manage accounts and provide Services.
Facilitate communication between users.
Customize, analyze, and improve Services.
Enforce Terms of Service, prevent fraud, and comply with law.
Public Areas
If you post to groups, discussions, or comment sections, your information may be visible to other users.
Member Areas
If you register, your profile and shared information may be visible to other Members.
Trail Crush and Social Features
If you enable Trail Crush:
We use your Personal Information and settings to facilitate friend requests and connections.
Trail Crush activity (requests sent/received, toggles) is not publicly visible.
You may disable Trail Crush or adjust visibility settings in the App at any time.
Location Tracking & User Control
Day Hike may collect approximate or precise location data to provide trail maps, activity suggestions, or social interactions (including Trail Crush).
You may enable/disable Precise Location at the device level.
You may also customize or disable your location sharing and visibility preferences in the App settings at any time.
If disabled, some features may be limited.
Day Hike does not sell location data.
Safety Considerations
We may send location-based alerts for safety or feature functionality. Day Hike does not replace emergency services — call 911 in emergencies.
6. WITH WHOM DAY HIKE SHARES INFORMATION
Advertisers: Only if you “opt in.”
Advertising Partners: May use cookies to deliver targeted ads.
Service Providers: Such as hosting, analytics, or support firms.
Payment Processors: To process transactions securely.
Government & Law Enforcement: Where legally required or necessary to protect safety, rights, or property.
Trail Crush & Location Data. We do not sell or share Trail Crush activity (friend requests, settings) or precise location with advertisers. Aggregated, anonymized location trends (e.g., “popular trails”) may be used for analytics.
7. SALE OR TRANSFER OF INFORMATION
In the event of a sale, merger, or transfer, your information may be assigned to the acquiring party.
8. ACCESSING, CORRECTING OR REMOVING INFORMATION
Account Management: You may review or deactivate your profile in the App.
Deletion Requests: Email support@dayhike.com.
Opt-Out: You may opt out of marketing emails at any time.
Data Retention: Retained only as long as necessary to provide Services or as required by law.
9. IMPORTANT DISCLOSURES
Data Security. Day Hike uses commercially reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee complete security. In case of a data breach, we will notify affected users and regulators as required by law.
Children. Services are intended for users 17+. Trail Crush and location features are not available to users under 18. If we learn that information from minors was collected, it will be deleted promptly.
International Transfers. Data may be processed outside your country with appropriate safeguards.
10. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
California (CCPA/CPRA). California residents may:
Request disclosure of what data we collect and share.
Request deletion of personal data.
Opt-out of the sale or sharing of data (Day Hike does not sell personal data).
GDPR (EU/UK). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or transfer your data, and to object to certain processing.

11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date.
